Credit monitoring
Hello, I received a letter that my SSN and DOB was part of a data breach of Transunion. I’ve received many letters like this before (health care organizations, experian, etc) but they never specifically said my SSN and DOB were involved. My credit is frozen with all three bureaus and I placed a fraud alert. Is it a good idea/necessary to sign up for the credit monitoring services that all these entities with data breaches offer? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it’s not necessary/good idea to sign up for those, but, I don’t remember why.
Thank you very much!

Not unless you have money to burn! If your credit is frozen, then no one can open new credit in your name.
