What are your thoughts on credit cards that charge an annual fee? I have an United mileage plus card which charges a annual fee and will be increasing the fee inlate December’25.

That all depends on whether you’re collecting miles on United! That’s the main reason to have that particular card. But if you’d rather have “cash back” on your purchases, or are using another airline, you should shop around. The only reason not to close the account is if it’s your longest-held card — because length of credit is a key component of credit scoring.
