What to do with credit cards we don’t need anymore.
My wife and I were discussing that we have credit card accounts that we don’t need anymore. Back in the day we had quite a few cards but with some creative finance and an increase in income we paid off quite a few of them. Question is it better to cut them and toss or to contact the credit card company personally and discontinue the card ??

Length of credit history is a key factor in your credit score. That’s important if you’re planning to borrow or refinance.
Get a copy of your credit report at AnnualCreditReport.com. It will list all your cards and the opening dates. Be sure to keep a couple of the oldest.
