Ask Terry Questions Credit card for daughter

Credit card for daughter

By Terry Savage on January 18, 2021 | Credit/Debt

If I add my daughter as a authorized user on my credit card to increase her credit score, will that have any effect on my credit score?

Terry Says

Only if she doesn’t pay on time!! Better yet, get her a “secured card” — a card with a line of credit equal to a deposit you make in a savings account at the issuing bank. If she charges regularly and pays in full and on time, she will soon have her own good credit. Use this link to a listing of secured card deals at CreditCards.com.
