How do I get my free credit score? What is the advantage of signing up for all three? How do I know that I will be on a safe site for these credit bureaus?

There is only ONE place to get guaranteed FREE credit reports — and even there you have to be careful not to sign up for credit monitoring services. It is www.AnnualCreditReport.com There you will get direct links to each of the three major bureaus. My best advice is to check at one different bureau every 4 months, because they are likely to have similar information. But this advice is to get your CREDIT REPORT.
If you want your credit SCORE (which is based on your credit report but can differ on how it is calculated), ask your bank of they offer your score for free — most do, these days. Or go to CreditKarma.com and sign up to get your free score. They then send you regular updates when your score changes materially.
