Freeze credit
After listening to you on the Roe Cahn show I tried freezing my credit. I was able to do it with two companies but with Expirence . They want me to send them all my info in mail including SS number. How safe is this ?

Try again with Experian — and tell them you have frozen your credit with ease at the other two bureaus. And you will write to the FTC (and me) if they do not accept your application online! That should do it. You shouldn’t have to send anything by mail. Let me know what happens — I’m looking for this kind of story.
And, as one more piece of practical advice, just call Equifax or TransUnion where you report is already frozen, and ask them to contact Experian — and advise you when it is done!
