Ask Terry Questions Medicare Part A

Medicare Part A

By Terry Savage on March 06, 2024 | Insurance & Annuities

If you have work health insurance should you take Medicare A since it’s no charge and you then get that extra hospital coverage?

Terry Says

It doesn’t matter since YOU won’t get paid extra for the double coverage!
Some employer plans require it once you turn age 65.
And there’s no reason NOT to take PartA — unless you want to keep contributing to a Health Savings Account at work. Once you sign up for part A, you can no longer contribute to an HSA
